November 2013

I was back in the library at Sant Pol for my first session for the year and with the weather turning very cold I decided to tell two winter warming stories about soup. The first was “The Gigantic Turnip”

and then I told “Stone Soup” the version by Tony Ross which the children thought was very funny.

The Smartest Giant in Town

Here I am in Tordera telling The Smartest Giant in Town. It was the first storytelling event in English to take place at the library. Many thanks to Sílvia who made it happen and all the children and parents who came.  Let’s hope it’s the first of many!

Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears

This is a great story which takes place in Western Africa.  I told it in October in Sant Pol library to welcome us back from the summer holidays.

From this  story we can learn that all of our actions have an effect on those around us, and also that we should take responsibility for our actions.

Below is an animated version narrated by James Earl Jones and animated by  Gene Deitch, the animator responsible for “Tom & Jerry”. Enjoy!
